I was born in Lima, Peru, in 2001. My mother is Japanese-Peruvian and my father is German-Uruguayan, from whom I inherit German citizenship.
Then I moved to Catalonia, Spain, where I lived from 2007 to 2018.
To finish my secondary education, I lived in Luxembourg from 2018 to 2020.
And finally, I moved to Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2020 to study Applied Mathematics at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, where I still am as of 2025.
I enjoy travelling to discover the architecture, culture and especially food from other countries. So far, I've visited 25 countries across 4 continents.
I am fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan. And since I live in the Netherlands, I'm learning Dutch!
Mathematics caught my attention with its rigorous logic, and the ability to use such logic to derive strong (or weak!) statements from data led me to study Statistics.
I am a bit picky with my tastes on visualizations, so I like using my time to make my projects look nice, be it an article, slides or web pages.
My hobbies revolve around video games. I'm particularly fond of the way Minecraft seems rigorous and logical yet allows for creativity. I also enjoy the difficult challenges of games such as Geometry Dash and Hollow Knight.
Cooking is another of my hobbies. My favorite cuisines are Peruvian and Chinese.
I also enjoy learning in my free time. Whether it's a recipe, geographical trivia or programming something, I might spend a bit too long looking into the details.
